"The Escape"
As I gaze out at an endless sky
through my small portal to the heavens
It hits me harder than ever before
I am conquerer of the clouds
the sultan of the skies
I look to my left
a man sits just a few feet away
but he could as well be a hundred-thousand
bored out of his mind, such a chore he thinks
I look back out of my portal
Typical human I think
turing the miracle into the mundane
no realization of the significance of our present state
let him be bored, I will not suffer so
then it hits me
I am nothing to the cosmos
a single blip on the histories
what is the world to the universe?
What am I to the world?
A dark thought, perhaps boredom is better
I retrace the path that led us here
bloodshed and tyranny
charity and prosperity
evolution and it's consequences
back through the aeons, shifting through the sands of time
The Sun, Earth and Moon in their eternal dance
but that's not quite true
they each had their births
all sons and daughters of a star
so are we the grandchildren of that dead god?
Back to the present with this revelation
This bored man, the other passengers, myself, even the plane
thirteen-billion years old
the universe recycles, interesting...
I recline in my chair, and meditate
No! I will not fade!
I will stamp these histories
I will not waste the universe's time
I will do what can be done to help
humanity escape this beautiful prison we call Earth
through my small portal to the heavens
It hits me harder than ever before
I am conquerer of the clouds
the sultan of the skies
I look to my left
a man sits just a few feet away
but he could as well be a hundred-thousand
bored out of his mind, such a chore he thinks
